How are the populations changing? Geography!

This lesson is looking at a whole unit with 11 lessons contained. From Global population, to controling the population, to urbanisation and then resource management. There is a wide range of topics within this unit.

Lessons are as follows.

1. How is global population changing?
2. Where does everyone live in the world?
3. How can we describe the structure of a population?
4. How can we control population size?
5. Why do people move within a country?
6. Why do people migrate?
7. Where do people migrate too?
8. What is urbanisation?
9. How did urbanisation change Southampton?
10. Explain two ways in which land use changes across a city.
11. What happened to the people on Easter Island?

Each lesson is following the British Geography Curriculum. Each lesson has been created to last 1 hour - however, with the various challenges (extentions) the lessons can be amended to go over this time frame. Each lesson caters for differing learning styles with a range of differing activities to target specific skills.

All students seemed to enjoy the lessons and the activities within the unit. The lesson is created with differing students in mind to allow all students to succeed and develop their geographical and wider knowledge.

The Lessons are easy to follow even for non-specialist teachers and can easily be adapted to increase challenge or to suit a nurture curriculum. All hand-outs are attached or within the PowerPoint.
