If you cannot get a kitchen, which was my case, it works well to make a demonstration with key instruments and ingredients, but without really cooking. First do the demonstration and students have to order the strips from the recipy you are reading (better to have rehearsed before!!). Then they can analyse the recipy as a reading. Finally you practice pronunciation as a group and students rehearse doing the demonstration themselves in front of the class. I like to organise a cooking competition as H/W: students can cook at home and bring crêpes for tasting. We then vote for our favourite!
