This Inside Out 2 (PG - 2024) Movie Guide challenges students to:
- Explore complex emotions and decision-making processes as Riley becomes a teenager.
- Discuss how Riley’s interactions with her emotions lead to personal growth and changes in her belief system.
- Analyze how each emotion contributes to her decisions, such as allowing her friend Grace to score the final goal.
- Identify behaviors triggered by Riley’s new emotions like envy, anxiety, embarrassment, and ennui.
- Encourage students to consider how internal conflicts shape a person’s identity and the importance of self-awareness and emotional regulation.
- Ask students to reflect on their connection with Riley’s new belief system created once Joy and Anxiety stop trying to control her.
- Debate the statement: “Emotions, on their own, are not good or bad; it’s how we process them and keep them balanced that is important.”

- Use the screen sharing tool on your group call software to play the movie
- Pause the movie at each question to give students time to write/discuss
