The symbols can be cut up into cards . The symbolscan be introduced after the concepts have been taught concretely through reading/following instructions. The cards then can be part of a wall dispay to remind pupils of the key features. They can also be used to help organise a piece of writing or visual reminders of the success criteria for a piece of work.
