This practical and fun resource was produced for a KS3 Biology lesson for SEND students so is pitched at more of a KS2 level (P7-Year4).
Learning objectives:
To see and understand the process of photosynthesis
I brought a range of plants and herbs to the lesson for a predominantly sensory lesson. Students were given sensory descriptors on word mats to help them describe the smell, appearance and feel of the plants that had been with or without sunlight.
We compared their findings and discussed what happens to plants when they have:
sunlight+water+carbon dioxide=sugar +oxygen
Activity: students to place keywords onto the print out picture of the flower in the correct place.
Plenary: Are these guys right? Questioning from simple statements about what conditions plants need to grow
