Jack the Ripper: The Victims, The Suspects, The Letters

This lesson is fully resourced and has been designed for those of secondary school age.

The lesson begins with an examination of why crime was a problem during this period and the efforts that were made to tackle it, before examining the problems in Whitechapel specifically.

Following this, the lesson examines the victims of the ripper murders, the potential suspects and the infamous letters, through a series of throughly planned and resourced activities.

The lesson then concludes by considering why Jack the Ripper was never caught and providing an interpretations based skill question for the students to complete.
