This is a fantastic lesson that I’ve created from my 15 years of being a classroom teacher/Director of English and six years as an AQA examiner.

An engaging, high quality powerpoint with a range of fun activities and exercises to stretch and challenge the more able, and are differentiated.

This resource contains:

  • A detailed powerpoint with questions to really break down every aspect and line of the poem including the impact of precise language and structural choices to challenge the more able students to Grade 9 and support less able students to achieve.
  • Worksheets on contextual factors of the poem such as letters home and the pilot’s perspectives.
  • Extensive analysis of the poem.
  • Individual and group exercises for students.
  • Research work on Garland
  • Model answers for students and how best to approach and answer an exam question.

Similar outstanding lessons can also be found, created bespoke by EliteEnglishGCSE.

Including:
