(FIXED sheet following feedback given below)
The file allows you to enter a cohorts KS1 SATs results then will automatically work out their KS1 PAG group and expected KS2 scaled scores. These scores are based on the 2017 thresholds.
On a separate page in the file it will calculate the percentage of children who are should meet the age related expectation and allows you to set addition targets based on teacher knowledge of their children.
This file can be used for any year group for the purpose of PPM.
Once Year 6 have taken the 2018 test you will be able to use the file to get an insight into your school’s possible progress measure before the official results are released by transferring their scaled scores in to the system -remembering that the thresholds are for 2017 and may change (again).

Great resource!

Once I've entered all my data, I seem to be having an issue with the KS2 Writing TA. I've tried putting in WTS/EXS/GDS but these do not seem to be working so I tried the D 0
PKF 73
PKE 76
PKG 79
WTS 91
EXS 103
GDS 113

Scores but I still can't seem to get the writing progress to produce an accurate figure?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks kierenoneill for the review - Not sure how it happened but there was an error in a hidden column that was preventing the KS2 writing to work. I have fixed in now and re-uploaded the file for you to download again. Apologies. Please remeber that the PAG groups are for 2017 so using this data will only give you an indication of the prgress made. I will add another resource once the 2018 PAG groups are released (normally December)

Excellent resource thank you.
I am struggling inputting the writing TA. If I use numerical value or letters suggested on the KS2 look up tab, I am still getting -96 etc fro each child's progress measure.

What am I doing wrong?!

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've tried to replicate your error but it seems to be working fine for me.

Have you checked what KS1 PAG groups the children are in as this what the progress is calculated from.

For example: If child A's KS1 writing result was 2B but their overall PAG score was 10 and child B's KS1 writing result was 1 but their overall PAG score was also 10 - If both children have a KS2 writing TA of EXP their overall progress will be the same.

I know this seems wrong, but progress is only measured against average progress made for a given PAG group and this is calculated from the combined RWM KS1 score not for individual subject progress.

Let me know if you still have a problem.

Please see page 13 onwards in this document for a full explanation and worked example (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/676406/Primary_school_accountability_technical_guidance_-January_2018_update.pdf)

full fix has now been added, apologies for the error. Just enter the codes WTS, EXS, GDS etc for writing in the column if you are still interested in using the system.

Excellent resource - fantastic! However, struggled to input writing results. What codes are needed in the cells? Tried numerical score and abbreviations for EXP etc. but no success. Help!

Hi, If you're talking about inputting the KS1 results you need to enter their level, i.e. 2C, 2B, 3 etc. If you're talking about the KS2 results you need to enter WTS, EXP, GD etc. If you take a look at the at the KS1Lookup or KS2 Lookup tabs (at the bottom of the spreadsheet) you can see the acceptable values to enter.

If you are looking to use KS1 results using the new, post 2014, descriptors I'll have to build another version for you. let me know.
