This is a dance scheme of work using the theme of Pirates. It uses the themes of “water”, explores the shape of the ship, the characters on board, pirate activities, sword fighting and performance skills. There are detailed lesson plans with worksheets for reflective practice. There are suggestions for music and diagrams to help with staging whole class sections. When I did this, we were 1:1 Chromebooks, so students created an online blog to write a diary of their creative progress, but with could be done with a physical booklet instead.
This scheme of work could possibly be used for Years 5, 6, 7 and 8, depending upon the student maturity, or where they are in the year.
