KS3 English Reading/Writing Assessments

Here is a set of fifteen KS3 assessments based around popular texts used in English, using a common format linked to new GCSE assessment criteria. There's also a generic mark scheme and table to convert to new numerical 0-9 grades.

Each assessment has a reading and writing section. These have been used very successfully to develop literacy/exam skills through KS3.

This is linked to a scheme of work overview for Years 7-9 that suggests 'mini-assessments' that could be used, based around the reading of three set texts and one 'challenge' text per year.
