Large cities/urban areas

There are two lessons here on large urban areas/cities. Both are carefully planned and suited for a GCSE group however, they can be easily adapted for an AS group. One of the lesson is on mega cities; focusing on the definition, distribution and pros and cons of mega cities. The other lesson is a comparison of three different groups of cities - mega cities, primate cities and world cities. This lesson explores the characteristics of all three types of cities an then uses some clever activities to challenge students to explain the differences between them.
