1 Two tasks for lesson on long division algebra. 1) Thoughts and crosses and 2) differentiated worksheet.
2. Thoughts and Crosses starts with basic algebraic long division and progressively gets harder as they move up the table. The differentiated worksheet is foundation, developing, secure and exceeding. Improvement of the skill, makes pupils aware of areas that they might fall down on in the exam. Pupils tend to show progress by end of lesson and feel confident with these skills.
3. Sets of solutions included.
4. Instructions (very simple, one line here) Display on the board. Let pupils complete in their books. Thoughts and Crosses 10 - 15 minutes earning essential marks in the exam. Differentiated worksheet 10 - 15 minutes in lesson and finish for homework.
