Children or adults alike, love getting hands-on with this creative, fascinating exercise which can be run as a workshop and/or a lesson!
Lesson covers plastic and sustainability theory which makes for several debatable topics:
♦ How are polymers produced/Where do they come from?
♦ What are the positives and negatives in production and logistics?
♦ What is the larger impact on the environment?
The second part of the lesson students have the opportunity to Make their own Bio Plastics from a range of easily obtainable materials. This is a task that can be extended with the use of different moulds and additives to create a range of products and finishes.
If you enjoyed this project/scheme of work. Please visit my shop where there are a range of creative and engaging design and engineering projects.
