Map of growing Persian Empire

Useful as a pre-cursor to the study of the Battle of Marathon, a PowerPoint slide showing an animation of the growth of the imperialist Persian Empire from 550BC. Useful as a starting point to identify that Greece was likely to face an attack at some point from the Persians, before going on to look at the battles that came in 490 and 480 BC. There is also a blank map of the same area onto which students could draw a broad outline of the two empires to record the state of play. The last scene shows the empires with modern-day borders in place.
