Lesson objective: To compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes and find unknown angles in any quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
In this lesson, students will recap the properties of 2d shapes in terms of angles, sides, parallel lines and lines of symmetry. They will then learn the what the interior angles of quadrilaterals and other polygons equal, identifying the pattern. They will learn how to calculate missing angles and will practise this skill with the examples on the presentation.
3 differentiated levels of activity sheets are then provided with answer sheets.
Duration: 1-2 hours.
This is an engaging lesson which comes with an interactive power point presentation and all corresponding activity worksheets. It is designed for Year 6 but could easily be modified to suit lower KS2 and KS3.
