I developed this game of snakes and ladders as an icebreaker for my maths functional skills sessions. Putting the slide upon the projector, I access a random number generator on my computer and limit the numbers 1-6. The group work in pairs to solve the maths problems, sharing knowledge and encouraging group participation.
I have found this a really fun way to get the group interacting with each other and to help asses their functional skill levels.
