I got the basis of this lesson from TES and reworked it to use images and get students to work in groups.
I explained the basic 5 aspects. Students then formed groups and got given 1 aspect each. They moved into groups where each of 5 aspects represented. Shared knowledge. Then given film stills on sugar paper and had to identify all 5 aspects. Feedback to class discussion.
Finally a PEE paragraph on which of the 5 aspects they felt was the most effective in the film still they had received.

Superb - collaborative learning and sharing provides excellet A4L opportunity with LO's re-enforced by the PEE - analysis and evaluative opportunities for higher level learning, differentiation by task and question very easy to evidence, caters for a variety of learning preferences, enagement and stickability - I will be adapting this for my year 8 Film unit and keeping it in my pocket for impending Ofsted. A million thanks.
