This is a fun, engaging and creative activity which promotes self-awareness and emotional literacy. Students are encouraged to explore each of the individual scenarios and reflect on the corresponding feelings. There are a total of 15 sets of paired mittens.

This activity fosters emotional literacy by supporting students to:

  • Understand emotions
  • Empathise with others and their experiences
  • Associate and attribute the feelings to the correct source
  • Express emotions constructively

Simply cut the cards and match the mittens. Each pair of mittens includes a left-handed mitten (scenario) with the right-handed mitten (corresponding feeling). Laminate this resource and you can use this resource for years to come
