The single biggest factor in students having their marks reduced by visiting moderators is for the very issues these guides highlight. No matter how good your athletes are if you fail to showcase the students correctly they will not be accredited with their marks. We have and still are even this year seeing schools who fail to produce AV evidence in the summer months of the GCSE course, not only are athletes at their peak but you are then asking them to reproduce PF in often cold weather or on bumpy tracks etc....That's why we suggest you gain AN evidence for elite PF. We have seen no take off boards out of season, wet damp sand pits, unmarked running tracks and throwing areas....all of which greatly reduce the chances of the students to showcase their potential...we have seen the wrong weighted implements thrown, sprinters not starting, a lack of bend running in NEA1 drills for 200m and 400m runners etc...This is NOT a generic athletics Guide IT IS a simple to follow checklist under 5 key headings to ensure that your athletes are not prevented from realising their full mark potential through poor planning and delivery by the school....These guides were trialled in over 30 schools before going on TES all schools last year said it focused their planning and delivery for the moderation day....£3 would seem small price to pay to avoid your students suffering a potential reduction in their marks and the school needing to go through the expensive appeals process...all because simple rules were not followed or considered....
