This is a complete unit of work in booklet form that introduces KS2/Year 7 students to a range of different myths and legends including Perseus and Medusa, Theseus and the Minotaur, and Beowulf among others. It is designed to develop students’ writing skills and reading analysis skills, as well as building up cultural capital. It is designed as a transition unit for new Year 7s so it is interspersed with quizzes on basic sentence construction, apostrophe use and other SPAG knowledge.
The assessment is for them to plan and write their own myth.
Included is an extended Myths project (a menu of eight holiday activities inspired by myths and legends).
