New Zealand Essential Spelling Words – Activity Sheets for Lists 1-4

Activity worksheets for lists 1-4 of the NZ Essential Spelling Words. Practise spelling and handwriting at the same time! Great for a literacy activity, word of the day, homework activity, etc.

A total of 110 worksheets.

Activities on the Worksheets:
♦ Write your name.
♦ Count the number of letters in the word and write the number in the box.
♦ Spell the word out loud 3 times. Tick the boxes to indicate this has been done.
♦ Count how many syllables. Colour the hand to show your answer.
♦ Colour the word.
♦ Write the word in the ‘letter boxes’.
♦ Trace the word (written in light grey font).
♦ Write the word.
♦ Write the word in the bricks on the word wall.
♦ Write the word in a sentence.

The font used is ‘NZ Basic Script’. The letter shapes are the same as those recommended in the NZ Ministry of Education Handbook – ‘Teaching Handwriting’.

The lines for the tracing and writing activities are 14mm high with a 7mm dashed line.

Made on A4 size paper.
Each worksheet has the same format.
