A pair of lessons covering sections 5.2.3 f-i of the OCR Chemistry specification- electrode potentials
The first lesson starts by looking at what half-cells are, how they are formed and the importance of salt bridges. It also covers how they can be used to measure standard electrode potentials. The lesson then covers half equations and using them to calculate the voltage of a electrochemical cell. The second lesson looks at the feasibility of reactions and how they can be predicted using half-cells. It also looks at the limitations of using electrode potentials to predict reactions
Both lessons include lots of student independent work tasks and all answers are included
