This resource looks at a more ‘unique’ breakdown of question 4. Before looking at an example, the powerpoint looks at the two features of the mark scheme (AO3/AO4) and some of the potential issues posed for students. The powerpoint then looks into understanding the question outside of literature so the students can better see how the question looks as a ‘skeleton’. This answer is then analysed to see why we should incorporate certain habits in writing question 4 and why it gives us marks.

Originally, this was used for private tutoring of a year 11 covid student aiming for a grade 5, but it has been adapted to facilitate all grades. I would recommend this to be sent home with kids, or equally going through it in after school revision sessions. Perhaps even as a ‘longer’ retrieval task to make even more notes, complimentary to your teaching style or their own notes to better understand.
