Activity designed to help students get to grips assigning oxidation states to elements in compounds. There are three parts: top trumps cards, record sheet and rules sheet. A priority system is used so that elements that only have one oxidation state trump elements with variable oxidation states when they form compounds. It could be used to introduce the topic or to recap at the end. Made using the idea of a colleague. Check out her resources too! (beccykg)
