Inspired by a similar activity on twinkl I decided to tailor this suitcase packing activity to our London / Paddington Bear topic and add-in a written component. The plan and resources are detailed as this was created for an observed lesson. This was a Knowledge & Understanding slash literacy activity.

For my outdoor provision I had bread, marmalade and butter knives so the ch. could practice fine-motor and maths skills (halves, quarters). I also had a vintage trunk and assorted clothes/items in the role play area, with a globe and laminated cards about the weather in different countries so they could pack a suitcase for Paddington if he were to go somewhere else.
