welcome code breaker task to settle pupils to the lesson
Pupils recap the parts of an insect pollinated task.
If they are able to recall these then they can move onto the dissection.
Lillies are required for this practical.
Pupils preferable have 2 lillies each or can work in pairs. One conducts a transverse section dissection, while the other isolates the different flower parts e.g , anther, filament etc.
Pupils are shown a WAGOLL (what a good one looks like) on scientific drawings including the criteria on how to produce a scientific drawing.
Pupils produce accurately drawn and labelled scientific diagrams and then peer asses with one method of how to improve next time ONLY FROM the WAGOLL criteria.
