PRIMARY KS2/3 FRENCH LESSON: classroom furniture/features; using “there is/are…”

Leçon 1 in our Learn as you teach Level 2 “School Life” French unit: OBJECTIVE: To identify classroom features. AGE RANGE: (7-12); KS2 (KS3 Less able/Special Needs)
CONTENTS: (i) A power point presentation with a range of French native speaker sound files attached to every item of language with animation designed to support both learners and presenters: Starter:Fun animated snakes and ladders board game reviewing snack foods, drink and presents. Fully supported with sound files. Screens 3-4:) Learning objective and key structures Dans ma salle de classe – In my classroom; Il y a – There is/are; Il y a aussi – There is also ; Screens 5&6:Presenting masculine then feminine objects and furniture with key structures; Screen 7: review of items with the plural des – some; Plenary: Animated picture close exercise with Yasmin describing what is in her classroom.
(ii) A lesson plan with screen by screen guidance and fun activity suggestions on how to present the show to pupils including a complete French/English vocabulary for the whole of the Level 2 School LIfe Unit with grammar notes;
(iii) A b/w illustrated worksheet with 3 differentiated tasks that has been directly linked to the main body of the power point show.
(iv) FREE Level 2 MFL Primary KS2/3 French work scheme detailing the other objectives in the unit and where the lesson falls in the teaching scheme.
