A simple resource I made for my Year 11 students. They need to learn key quotes for their exam texts, and this resource helps them to organise their revision into more manageable chunks.

The wheel is labelled with major themes and motifs, then students simply have to find four key quotes for each category and fill them in on their wheel. I advise my students to keep this visible at home or in their folders so that they can look at their key quotes often.

Also included is my pre-annotated copy with quotes already on!

I love this resource!

Having a wheel with all the major themes listed so students can match relevant quotes according to theme, should hopefully help their mental organisation and fire up those neurons. It's the presentation of the exercise in a different format that could enable the facilitation of learning in a multi-modal way. Perhaps adding pictures of each character to the wheel, as well as playing suitable music in the background while they work, could stimulate more areas in their brains, causing them to be more likely to remember. This is clever scaffolding. As Jean-Luc Picard (from Star Trek) would say...

'Nicely done.'
