A 6 lesson scheme of work planned for Year 7 students using photographs from my own trip to the rainforest in Thailand as a more unusual case study.
The scheme of work covers location, climate and adaptations of plants and animals to the rainforest. Lesson 4 was my particular favourite as we cleared all the chairs and tables to the sides of the classroom and (using the photographs in the presentation as inspiration) took a virtual field trip to the rainforest together.
Lesson 5 and 6 are based on the Making Animals activity from the original Thinking Through Geography book by David Leat. A copy of this would be useful for these two lessons. You will also find a copy of the Geog.2 textbook useful.
