In this unit (1 to 2 lessons) pupils work on regular plural endings.

This is how I did it:
First they filter out the plural forms of known pets from a text.
Then they contrast them with the singular forms and work out the rules.
With a powerpoint they check their results for the single plural forms, and get to say / hear the words. (The first part of the ppt can be used to introduce the pets in the first place.)
I talked about their own results for the formation of the plural after this.
Then we turned some animals into plurals together on the board,
then they filled out the worksheet with the hitherto unknown animals.

This is very clear and most appropriate for this age group. Fantastic overview of plural rules. Many thanks for sharing this resource.

Thanks for doing all the hard work. I could use a lot of these exercises although I didn't use the singular - plural rules. (need to think about those as I usually use a bilingual dictionary for that)
