RWI set 2 Phonics Mini Books - Science of Reading Aligned

This resource contains 12 phonics mini-books for your growing readers! They are based on the RWI set 2 sounds but can be used for any phonics scheme, These no-preparation, one-page focused and explicit mini-books are perfect for phonics practice and phonics lessons, reading intervention, take-home books, book bins and independent reading time, and more! As you progress through your phonics lessons and instruction this year, students can use the mini books to practice their decoding and fluency skills.

This resource was created to help students learn how to decode words and practice the phonics skills you are teaching in your classroom! Each one-page mini-book focuses on a specific phonics skill. Each book consists of a word list, a short story and a find the sound page. Simply print, fold, and start reading! Students will read the words, read the story, and find the sound in each book.

How should I prepare these mini-books?

Simply print and fold! I teach my students how to fold their own mini-books at the beginning of the school year. You can print these booklets on coloured paper OR on white paper so that students can colour, circle, or highlight the phonics pattern before or as they read! There are SO many ways to use these booklets!

These mini-books provide practice, reteaching, review, and additional exposure to the phonics pattern you are working on.
