• This teaching resource explains the work of Professor Angelos Barmpoutis from the University of Florida in the US. He has developed a course that gives students real-world experience of designing web-based applications with a focus on user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design.
• This resource also contains interviews with Angelos and one of his students, Satvik Vippatoori, and offers an insight into careers in software development. If your students have questions for Angelos, they can send them through the Futurum Careers website.
• The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Angelos’ research and challenges them to assess the UI/UX design of an online educational app.
