Scaffolded Y12 Chemistry Brain Dumps

This resource contains scaffolded chemistry brains dumps on the following Y12 themes:

• Chemical Tests
• Organic Mechanisms

Each dump included key words and terms. Students need to write everything they know about that topic, trying to use as many of the key words and terms listed below. Once finished, they can look at your class notes, textbook and/or revision guide and check whether what they’ve written is correct. they then need to look at what they haven’t included and focus on this. They can date the sheet and store it away. At a later date, do the exercise again and compare the sheets – hopefully they’ll see they’ve made progress! It also serves as an excellent diagnostic tool for you, the teacher.

They have been put together with the AQA course specifically in mind but much of it is translatable to other exam boards.
