A 5 week unit including planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5.
Unit of work includes:
- To understand the term ‘drug’, in terms of legal and illegal.
- To gain an understanding of what is classed as smoking and meant by alcohol.
- To understand what is factual in terms of legal and illegal substances.
- To gain knowledge around the affects illegal substances have on the body.
- To understand the reasons behind age restrictions and how to resist peer pressure.
Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.
