Sentence Structure Lesson - Gothic Creative Writing

This sentence structure lesson is designed to show students how using a variety of sentences can create a certain effect on the reader. Here I have used 'The Boy' horror movie trailer to create my own descriptive piece of writing which focuses on building an image using descriptive language and a variation of sentences.

Once students have read the description and discussed why this description is effective you move on to watching the trailer (access to the internet needed), and then get the students to continue the original description using the success criteria, trailer, their imagination, and the original descriptive piece of writing for aid.
