Twenty four unique lessons that cover fifteen classic short stories and offer advice on how to approach the various questions of GCSE Language papers.

From Ernest Hemingway to Joyce Carol Oates, Gabriel Garcia Marquez to George Saunders and Alice Walker, the lessons cover a broad range of authors from across the twentieth and twenty-first century.

The lessons are designed especially to enable students to write better creative pieces and, more generally, tackle the nuances of each question of the Language Paper (1 and 2).

Lessons and texts are designed to be accessible and yet offer a challenge-many pupils in our school have found them invaluable in gaining Level 9s in GCSE Language.

Lessons could be taught at any point in Key Stage Four and can be easily adapted for the individual needs of pupils.
