Shrek Samba!

Lesson on Samba with differentiated versions for less and more able. Unscramble the key word starter, recap about dynamics to lead into performance and then different rhythms for each instrument in a Samba kit with a corresponding phrase for a Shrek character. For performance, lower abilities use the phrase and higher abilities use just the rhythmic notation. Groups then rehearse and perform this. Two extension tasks (add a break and a change in dynamics). Self and peer assessment slide at the end with sentence starters and word bank for less able, and a word bank with literacy related reminders for more able.
