One lesson on what the underground railroad was and how it functioned, heroes of the railroad. Activities include inference from an image, understanding a diagram of routes, reading comprehension, challenge questions and discussion points.

Lesson 2: students will explain how enslaved people resisted & revolted against slavery and evaluate their success in regaining freedom. listen to slave spirituals, sort and categorise methods of resistance and evaluate which were the most effective and how do we measure their success.
