Slideas: Guess the number

Slideas is a generic term for a set of slides which are most suitable for secondary or tertiary learners, and are useful as icebreakers, attention grabbers or mood changes - or just a bit of fun. The resources are free, and use basic powerpoint.

This is a longish presentation, where the class is asked to guess the number. It is a guessing game, and the answers are generally surprising. It is quite a useful activity to make the class aware of social and political issues and conditions world wide. Warning: the data is based on 2006 - it might be useful where approprate data exists, to update it…but in my view the figures given will not be radically different.
