This animated PowerPoint presentation accompanied by a 30 question worksheet and PowerPoint solutions is all you need to introduce students to the concept of solving linear equations. With the students first introduced to the idea of the equals sign acting like a balance on a see-saw they can easily see how linear equations are solved and why each step is taken in the process, which is of utmost importance. It prepares them for further more complicated linear equations they will have to solve (which I also have similar resources uploaded for). This resource is so teacher friendly also as the worksheet has animated PowerPoint presentation solutions which allows the teacher to circle the classroom while correcting the homework. All you will need is a remote control for your overhead projector. It has worked for me everytime I have taught this topic.
