Speaking in Sentences Cards for EYFS

8 colour sheets with 6 cards on each one.
Use as a board for group talk or cut into individual cards and laminate for durability.

These cards show a character thinking e.g. the gingerbread man is thinking about a fox ( as in the story).
Children think about and discuss each card and once clear about the meaning, they can begin to formulate a short phrase or sentence.

Extend with children writing down their phrase or sentence on a white board or in their work books. Can they think of some more cards to draw / make themselves?
The cards could also be used for role play, drama or warm up games.
