Speech Writing - L1 - Identifying and employing techniques

This task is perfect way to introduce students to speech writing. Using two different adverts from large supermarkets, it would also work well for a media studies module. This lesson would work well as part of a functional writing task for junior or senior students. I tend to use it with 6th years as an introduction to the language of persuasion. After this, we look at samples from reading comprehension past exam papers. Students then complete a series of Part B activities. These lessons will feature as part of the bundle pack. Most importantly, more detailed lessons on the 100 mark essay will be included.
