“Do NOW” tasks are designed to be completed within the first 5 minutes of a lesson. Encouraging students to settle quickly, whilst the teacher completes the register.
A "do NOW " task will be a short warm-up activity that students can complete without instruction or direction from the teacher e.g. retrieval practice or application of knowledge from a previous lesson, short quiz etc.
