A Tarsia activity on expanding single brackets. These type of activities can be used to consolidate understanding of a given topic, and foster positive group work and co-operative learning. This is a very extensive tarisa on expanding single brackets, it could be used for factorising too. The questions are mostly straight forward with no powers higher than two. This would make a great starter activity before you go onto factorising, you could then ask students to complete it again in reverse having learnt how to factorise. This would really help to consolidate factorisation as the inverse to expanding brackets which can often be misunderstood by students. Thank you for sharing.
