Designed for Upper KS2 pupils, comprehension questions are designed to meet new curriculum requirements and involve inference, deduction, author intention and purpose, clarification and retrieval. Questions will last for a full half term (if not more) to be used weekly in Guided Reading sessions.

A really good resource which has questions for each or a small collection (e.g. chapter 8 and 9 together) of the chapters. Possibly would have been better if they were broken up into smaller chunks for guided reading sessions (possibly over 3/4 pages). Good for my higher ability readers, but not so much my lower ability. Really focuses a lot on word choice which is good especially when you are focusing on an author over a few weeks. It also focuses on specific figurative language techniques which challenges the pupils to consider their literacy learning too. The page references are accurate to the book and easy to follow. Good enough to just pick up and transfer onto a sheet for guided reading.
