For schools interested in linking to HM The King and HM The Queen Consort’s Coronation Celebrations, we have prepared some special Coronation Big Lunch lesson plans.
These are targeted at KS3/4 but could be adapted for use with younger students.
Pupils are asked to prepare a piece of fiction entitled ‘My First Day as King’ to commemorate the Coronation. They are taught the meaning of empathy and to develop their writing skills, by getting inside the head of The King.
Pupils are encouraged to use the five senses and learn to ‘show not tell’ with their writing.
