These five tests are a brilliant revision tool for the Punctuation and Grammar component of the Key Stage 2 SPaG test in May. You can use these tests to assess your Year 6 pupils’ understanding of all the concepts in the new curriculum for SPaG.

The ‘Parallel Test’ contains the same question types, in the same order, as the 2016 SPaG paper. It is exactly the same difficulty level as the original test.

Papers 1 to 4 contain questions on the whole range of topics that might come up in the exam. (I’ve also included a few questions on topics such as ‘the infinitive’ and ‘impersonal language’. I think it’s unlikely that they will come up, but it only takes a few moments to explain them, and these were areas on which the children were assessed in previous years.) These tests are slightly more challenging than the short answers paper your children will sit in May.
