A thematic scheme of work using new national curriculum objectives designed for a 2 year cycle at KS3. Used in lower ability/SEN nurture context, but could be adapted for mainstream.
Units incorporate a literacy focus with a wide range of reading and writing activities. These English lessons intersect with PSHE, Humanities, Science and arts and sports subjects, as well as using on-going focus on basic literacy and all types of writing. Poetry and non-fiction is spread throughout the SOW so that skills are maintained throughout the academic year. Topics are designed to be engaging and diverse whilst still covering new curriculum aims. I shall put accompanying medium term plans on as I build them.
