Questioning is a task students rarely get to take part in. This task usually is completed by the teacher while the student assumes the role or answerer. Sadly, when teachers create all of the questions, students are missing out on a valuable opportunity to learn and practice a strategy that could potentially change their lives forever.
Questioning enables people to think and act when posed with a problem. Questioning deeply, as practiced in this game/activity, can help students identify problems, create new understandings, and opportunities for learning beyond simply answering questions.
As with all of my Use Your Noggin Task Cards, students will closely observe specific details in engaging thought-provoking photos to practice the skill of questioning.
*****Note: Pictures included in this product were chosen specifically for use with questioning practice. This product could potentially be used by 1st graders second semester or if students are developmentally ready for questioning tasks. *******
