A worksheet to practice finding the volume of a cuboid, but with examples chosen to encourage discussion of efficient calculation methods (most can be done mentally, with a little thought). Also leads to useful reminders of place value, decimals and fractions. Inspired by Dave Taylor's Increasingly Difficult Questions (http://taylorda01.weebly.com/increasingly-difficult-questions.html). Excellent resource. Love that algebra and fractions are brought into the mix. A much more interesting way of challenging pupils rather that just giving them really big numbers and letting them slog through tedious number work.
